Beautiful, friendly and rare heritage Ancona ducklings, lovingly hatched and raised at Gatton Chooks & Quails in Gatton, Queensland. Ancona ducks are known for their unique spotted feather patterns, friendly personalities, excellent egg-laying abilities, hardiness and active foraging. They are wonderful additions to backyard flocks, hobby farms and family properties. What makes them special: • Every duck has its own distinctive pattern of coloured patches and white feathers. • Females can lay approximately 180–250 eggs per year under good conditions. • Curious, lively and entertaining, with regular gentle handling. • Hardy, adaptable and excellent foragers. Care: • Ducklings generally need supplementary heat for approximately 2 weeks in warm conditions, or longer depending on weather and feather development. • Provide suitable duckling starter feed. • Keep fresh drinking water available, deep enough for ducklings to rinse their nostrils. Supervise swimming while young and prevent chilling. • Provide clean, dry bedding, ventilation without cold drafts and secure predator-proof housing. • Outdoor exploration is suitable as they grow and become properly feathered. Each duckling is unique. Sold unsexed—males and females cannot be guaranteed. Limited availability according to the hatching schedule. Every purchase supports Leo's Little Shop and his love for animals.
